Superintendent-Board Governance

LEAD Connecticut believes in the importance of effective board-superintendent governance.  This requires that board members and superintendents understand their roles and responsibilities as part of the leadership team.  Through the leadership of CABE and CAPSS, we are researching effective governance practices and articulating a vision for Board-Superintendent relationships in Connecticut.

“Every person who assumes a leadership position as a Board member or Superintendent has both the opportunity and the responsibility to work as a part of a team to create a successful school district. Our clients, the American public, have made it clear they will tolerate nothing less.  Probably the most important role the Board has is to select and strategize with the Superintendent.”
